- Getting a nice close up helps me see and feel the pet’s energy as well as express it in the painting. So please take lots of photos! Below, I've included some useful tips on how to take ideal photos in preparation for a commission:
- Photos must be of good quality that show sufficient detail of the pets face.
- Don’t use a flash as it may distort the features.
- Photograph your subject outside if possible in natural light.
- Take photos using a ¾ angle as well as facing you.
- Be sure to have the photo at “eye level” with the animal.
- Take lots of “close up” shots of your pet including head, neck and shoulders as well as some full figure shots.
- You can’t send me too many!
